3 bears details This was my sculpture for this year's Laskianen Day at Palo. As usual the Finns of Palo had a ten foot cube of snow for me. Before I began carving it I made a small model out of clay of three polar bears lying together. I found many pictures of polar bears by doing a Google image search and used them as models for my very simple clay model. I took the clay model with me and when I chopped snow off the block I could use the model as a quick reference to see what had to be sheared off the block. Eventually I got three roughly polar beaish shapes cut out and then I began working on the details. |
